There is much to process as you deal with your grief; the author also provides questions and prompts for journaling, which is strongly recommended.

I would definitely suggest the book to those who are trying to recover from grief.

What is Grief?

The author displays a strength and grace I have seldom seen in any person. She is inspiring beyond belief and I am in awe of her journey, in awe of her mission and in awe of her amazing spirit. To lead others from heartbreak to wholeness is a courageous and heroic endeavor, and I can't think of another person more suitable to do this.

Aligning with supreme self care while practicing mindfulness is just some of what, "From Heartbreak to Wholeness" captures. What amazed me more than words was Kristine's own struggles and her power to not be bitter but to be better. I tell this to my own readers in dealing with narcissist "You were born complete. I tell this to my own readers in dealing with narcissistic abuse and the devalue and discard they feel afterwards. What's important to remember is that tomorrow is a new day with new blessings and new opportunities but you have to stay open and welcome them.

If you go around being angered, bitter, resentful, and self condemning than you are not open to receive the blessings that are on their way. God is good believe that and don't let anyone tell you that you are not loved. Heck I nearly died during childbirth with my son having been born disabled medically and yes I don't take one day for granted. The book not only deals with the loss of a spouse, but also other losses such a health crisis or loss of a career I have long been a fan of the Don't Sweat series of books written by Richard Carlson, some of which were co-authored by his wife Kristine.

The book not only deals with the loss of a spouse, but also other losses such a health crisis or loss of a career. I appreciated the way Kris presented both the good and bad aspects of her personal story. There is a lot of information to digest, so I am sure that I would benefit from a second, slower reading.

As Jesus said, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Failing to forgive keeps us bound to the past but to make genuine forgiveness possible, we need to resolve and get rid of all our negative emotions of hurt, anger, and grief. Unless we do this, we will take our negative emotions into all our future close relationships. Eighth , let go of the past. I've worked with people who were divorced as long as twenty years ago and were still hanging onto the fantasy that their ex-spouse would return -- even though they had remarried.

The Hero's Journey to Joy

We need to work through our pain, then let go of it. It helps to hand our failures over to God, ask for his forgiveness for our part in the marriage breakup, receive it by faith and then forgive ourselves. Then leave it with God and get on with life.
